AI Rosary ("we," "our," or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our iOS application.

Information We Collect

Personal Information You Provide

  • Prayer intentions: The personal intentions you share before each rosary session
  • Reflection conversations: Messages you share during post-prayer reflections
  • Onboarding responses: Information about your faith journey and reasons for using the app
  • Explore conversations: Questions and discussions about mysteries during meditation

AI-Generated Memory

Our AI may extract and store meaningful information from your conversations to personalize future meditations. This includes details about your life circumstances, relationships, struggles, and spiritual journey. You can view and delete these memories at any time in the app's Settings.

Automatically Collected Information

  • Device information: Device model, iOS version, app version, and locale
  • Usage analytics: Prayer sessions completed, features used, and interaction patterns
  • Anonymous device identifier: A randomly generated ID for analytics purposes

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • Your name or email address (unless you contact support)
  • Location data
  • Contacts or photos
  • Payment information (we don't sell anything in-app)

How We Use Your Information

  • Personalized meditations: Your intentions and memories are used to generate AI meditations that connect your prayers to your life
  • Conversation continuity: Your reflection and explore chat history enables meaningful follow-up conversations
  • App improvement: Anonymous analytics help us understand which features are valuable and where to improve
  • Prayer history: Local records let you track your prayer practice over time

Third-Party AI Disclosure

Important: AI Rosary uses Anthropic's Claude AI to generate personalized meditations and power our chat features. When you use these features, certain personal data is shared with Anthropic:

  • Your prayer intentions
  • Your conversation messages (reflections, onboarding, explore chats)
  • AI-generated memories about you (to provide context for personalization)

This data is processed by Anthropic to generate your meditations and responses. By using AI-powered features in this app, you consent to this data sharing. You can learn more about Anthropic's data practices at anthropic.com/privacy.

Data Storage and Security

Local Storage

Most of your personal data—including prayer records, AI memories, and chat histories—is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data is encrypted by iOS and remains on your device unless you use AI features.

Cloud Processing

When you use AI features (meditation generation, reflection chat, explore chat), your relevant data is transmitted securely via HTTPS to our API proxy, which forwards requests to Anthropic's Claude API. We do not store your conversation content on our servers.

Analytics

Anonymous usage analytics are sent to our analytics service. These events contain no personal content—only aggregate usage patterns and technical information.

Data Retention

  • Local data: Stored indefinitely until you delete it or uninstall the app
  • Analytics: Retained for product improvement purposes
  • AI processing: Your data is processed by Anthropic according to their retention policies

Your Rights and Choices

Access and Control

  • View your data: Access your prayer history and AI memories in the app's Settings
  • Delete memories: Remove individual AI memories or all memories from Settings
  • Skip personalization: Use the app without entering intentions to receive default meditations

Delete All Data

To delete all your data, uninstall the app from your device. This removes all locally stored prayer records, memories, and chat histories. If you'd like us to delete any analytics data associated with your device identifier, please contact us.

Focus Mode (Screen Time)

If you enable Focus Mode, the app uses Apple's Screen Time API (FamilyControls framework) to temporarily shield selected apps until you complete your daily rosary. This feature requires your explicit authorization. App selections and completion status are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to any server.

Notifications

If you enable daily reminders, the app schedules local notifications on your device. We do not use push notification services that require external servers. Your notification preferences are stored locally.

Children's Privacy

AI Rosary is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
